Installing Unalia
Unalia runs on Windows 10 and 11. It finds your Steam games on its own. Games from other stores work too: you point Unalia at their folder once.

Download
Get the installer from the Download button. The link always points to the latest version. - 02
Install
Rununalia-mod-manager-setup.exe. If Windows SmartScreen warns about an unknown app, click More info, then Run anyway. - 03
Open
Unalia reads your Steam libraries and lists the games you can mod. No account, nothing to set up.
My game isn't in the list
- Installed it a minute ago. Click the refresh button next to the search on the home screen. Unalia looks again.
- Not on Steam. GOG, Epic, Xbox or a plain folder: click Add a game and pick the game's folder.
- Not supported yet. Unalia only lists games it knows how to mod (see the table in Your first mod). Ask for yours on Discord.
02 / First mod
Your first mod
Pick a game on the home screen. Its page has two tabs: Discover to find mods, and My mods for the ones you have.

Find a mod
In Discover, search or sort by popularity, downloads or date. Open a mod to see its description, versions and dependencies. - 02
Install
Click Install. The button turns into a progress bar. The libraries the mod needs and its loader (BepInEx, UE4SS, RED4ext…) come with it, in the right order. - 03
Play
Click Play. The game starts through Steam, with its mods on.

Mod archives can be .zip, .7z or .rar. Nothing inside them is ever run.
03 / Nexus Mods
Linking Nexus Mods
Thunderstore needs no account. Games whose mods live on Nexus Mods need a Nexus account, free or Premium, linked once.

Open Connections
Click the gear at the top of the app, then Connections. - 02
Connect
Click Connect Nexus Mods, then Authorise on the Nexus page that opens in your browser. - 03
Check
Back in Unalia, your account name shows under Nexus Mods, with Premium or Free account.
Free or Premium
- Premium. Downloads start right in Unalia, as with Thunderstore.
- Free account. Nexus asks you to confirm each file. Click Install, then Slow download on the page that opens. Unalia installs the mod right after.
Connect doesn't work
Link with your personal API key instead. In Connections, open the link to your API keys, copy the Personal API Key at the bottom of the Nexus page and paste it in Unalia. It never leaves your computer.
04 / Your mods
Managing your mods
Everything happens in the My mods tab of the game.
- Turn off. The switch turns a mod off without uninstalling it. Turn it back on whenever you want.
- Remove. Removal is instant, with an Undo for a few seconds. No confirmation popup.
- Update. A badge shows when a mod has an update. Nothing updates on its own: a working setup stays working until you say so.
- Go back. Unalia keeps the last versions of each mod. Go back to one you had before without downloading it again.
- Back to vanilla. Remove every mod and the game folder is exactly as it was. Your saves are never touched.
05 / Anti-cheat
Games with an anti-cheat
Some online games use Easy Anti-Cheat or BattlEye. These tools can detect mods and ban your account, even for mods that only change visuals. Unalia spots these games and warns you before your first mod.
06 / Logs
Logs and bug reports
Unalia writes a log and keeps your mods in your local app data. Paste a path below in the Explorer address bar to open it.

Copy the report
In Settings > Support, click Copy report. It holds your app and Windows versions, your games and their mods, and the recent log. Never your account name, API key or Windows user name. - 03
Send it
Paste it on Discord with your notes.
07 / Versions
Updating and uninstalling
- Update Unalia. The app checks for updates each time it opens and offers to install them. It restarts on the new version, your mods stay as they are. You can also check in Settings > Support.
- Uninstall. Click Uninstall Unalia in Settings > Support, or use the Windows settings. In the uninstaller, tick Delete the application data to take every mod out of your games and get them back to how they were. Leave it unticked to keep your mods for a reinstall.
